WHERE ARE LIMITLESS MUSHROOMS GROWN?

Our mushrooms are cultivated at M2 Ingredients, an indoor mushroom farm in Carlsbad, California, that holds USDA-certified organic certification.

But why does the growth location matter? It's all about quality.
Mushrooms act as bio-accumulators, absorbing elements from their surroundings, including air pollutants and heavy metals. Therefore, the environment in which mushrooms grow directly impacts their composition. Before leaving the mushroom farm, all our mushrooms undergo rigorous in-house and third-party testing to ensure they are free from contaminants like heavy metals.
BUT WHY AN INDOOR FARM? SHOULD MUSHROOMS GROW NATURALLY?
Wild fungi play a crucial role in ecosystems. However, harvesting them at scale can be unsustainable and harmful to the environment if not done responsibly. Opting for indoor-grown mushrooms in Limitless Mushrooms helps ensure sustainability, quality, and freedom from insects, pesticides, and other environmental pollutants. Additionally, considering the bio-accumulation factor, indoor mushroom farms mitigate the risks associated with outdoor growth.

OK, COOL. INDOOR MUSHROOM FARMS SOUND INTERESTING. BUT WHY OATS AS A GROWING MEDIUM?

Mushrooms, like all living organisms, require nutrients to thrive. The substrate on which mushrooms grow provides these necessary nutrients. While mushrooms are not overly picky about the substrate, ensuring the availability of proper nutrition is vital. The key to achieving a full-spectrum mushroom ingredient without the presence of the substrate lies in allowing the mushrooms to complete their entire growth cycle. In the case of Limitless Mushrooms, our grower ensures that the mushrooms continue to grow until they develop sizable and beautiful fruiting bodies, and the mycelium digests the substrate (in this case, oats). Our U.S.-based grower has thoroughly tested various substrates, assessing mushroom growth and the development of beneficial compounds. The result? Oats emerged as the top choice.
WAIT. DO YOUR PRODUCTS CONTAIN OATS?
Absolutely not. We never add raw oats as fillers or for bulking up our products. Our goal is to provide you with the highest quality, which means avoiding blends of mushrooms, mycelium, unfermented oat substrate, or any other undesirable components. That's why we collaborate with a reputable U.S.-based mushroom and mycelium grower. They boast a range of certifications and employ some of the most knowledgeable mycologists in the country. The mushrooms undergo the full life cycle, including myceliation, fermentation, and digestion of the substrate. As a Whole30 Approved® product, you won't find any raw, undigested grain or gluten in our offerings. To ensure authenticity, we even conduct DNA testing on all our mushrooms.

WHY DO YOU USE WHOLE MUSHROOM POWDERS INSTEAD OF MUSHROOM EXTRACTS? WHAT'S THE DIFFERENCE?

There's a lot of misinformation circulating about extracts versus whole mushroom powders. Although we choose whole mushroom powders, we don't intend to disparage extract-based products. Here's an impartial breakdown of the differences between the two:

Both fruiting body extracts and whole mushroom powders offer benefits, but they serve different purposes in terms of health. Extracts show promise for targeted medical applications, while whole mushroom powders, encompassing both mycelium and fruiting bodies, contribute to everyday well-being and overall bodily health. They promote focus, support a healthy immune system, and aid in digestive wellness.

The extensive processing of extracts can alter and filter out certain compounds in.
